My days without a vehicle…

Ever since my car, a Proton Saga, year 1992, 12MegaValve, Metallic Silver on plate number WCS 2435;

Stolen on 19th March 2010 between 0300 am and 0700am…

Travelling has been somewhat troublesome, especially during recent raining season in Kuala Lumpur. Yes, troublesome yet lucky as I live in a very strategic location right smack in the center of the city (mind you, Bukit Bintang isn't the center but a heart in term of shopping paradise in this bustling city).

 

How lucky? Of course my alternatives were always public transports. From cabs/taxis to busses, from Light Rail Transits (LRT) to Monorails… Only disadvantage was, every single time required to travel means time consuming as they never get you to the front door of your destinations! HeHe…

That was the price I must accept as I’ve been travelling in public transports since primary level.

No matter day or night, for work or leisure, it has to be LRTs or Monorails to start with unless my destination can be reach by bus on trip!

Until recently, after accepted some financial supports from my family, few days ago I went to my Uncle Mike Lim’s used car company in Maluri, Cheras to check on some cars as my future-to-be vehicle. Spent lots of time persuading my dad as he wanted me to get a brand new car…

My requirements were simple:

1. low fuel consumptions (you know KL lar, everywhere also jam)
2. low maintenance costs – in terms of mileage services and auto-part repairs (in this city, other road-users will KISS you someday no matter if you are a reckless or else)
3. decent price – depending on the overall condition of the car, preferably below RM20k.

Then my Uncle Mike introduced me to this Perodua Kenari with Daihatsu exterior modifications…

The car looked stylish…

Comes with rear spoiler and side skirts…

Front fog and rear reverse lighting bumper….

With painted window visors and original Sports Edition rims…

Most important issue was, even my dad liked this car…

So we decided to think about it first after spending some time there as I still have many choices. Why the hurry right?! HaHa…

Few nights ago, after chatting with my dad, we decided to upfront some deposits to secure the car before full documentation and loan arrangement on 25th of April 2010.

So yesterday, I went there again to made the deposit payment. Took a few peeks on the car again before I left!

Hope this vehicle is worth my pamper in the future…

Ended up in Healy’s Mac @ Changkat Bukit Bintang.

I called Jayson earlier to see if he’s free for mamak-ing around late noon but he requested me to be at Healy’s before 5pm.

Then I arrived only to know that Healy’s Mac is owned by Mr. Guna… HaHa! (He’s also owned Gypsy on the same street)

Meaning? Sure got holy water lor and they are served fresh on daily basis! It’s a guarantee in Mr. Guna’s drinking ports!!!!

Mr. Guna’s place will forever gets you into the drinking mood! Look at his table liners…

And you will not feel lonely if go there by yourself for a drink or two because…

“There are no strangers here, Just friends who have yet to meet!”

Well put! Enough said…

The drinkers were: Me, Jayson, Alex Ou Yong, Matthew Max, Siva and an American girl (sorry bro, I forgot her name).

 

P/S: By evening, I managed to get a haircut together with Jayson in Sg. Wang for RM15 bucks per head… LOL!

Bad Connection Speed?

 

I subscribed to P1 Wimax at first because of its mobility. Have I made the wrong decision? Will P1 continue like this in my area?

Maybe I should shift to Streamyx instead!!!

Saturday and Sunday was bad enough… My work depended heavily on Internet but my connections were SNAIL like and I got to abandoned my work for two days!

So I tested my connection using Online Speedometer provided at www.p1.com.my and look at my results!

Upload Speed: 38kbps

 

UNBELIEVABLY SLOW!!!!!

Birthday Party @ The Norse Bar & Bistro.

The night was wild on alcohols and laughter on 2nd of April 2010. I was there early around 10pm with an appointment with Mac Brandon but he was too busy to talk business and… the party started late. Never matter because I am already there, right? Plus, bumped into a friend of mine sitting a few tables from me, Lionel who has been gulping beer since 8pm with his friends. There was also a live band performing right smack in front of The Norse, so why mind waiting…

Not long there came Kenneth with a Tiramisu from Dorsett Regency Hotel. Mind you, Kenneth had the hotel made it in half hour! You are the MAN!!!

Together are Chuah, Lawrence and his lovely girl Elenne. From far… Jayson and of course, Alex the birthday boy with his beloved lady Mitha!

Look at his face! Even the blind could tell that he definitely had a few drinks before coming to the party. By the way, Jayson wanted this to be a surprise party, so… SURPRISE!!!

Immediately with our request to the playing band on stage, we all sang the Birthday Song together!

This is what happened when you rush a birthday without proper prep time, a CIGARETTE instead of a candle… Ha Ha Ha

Same here, without enough prep time given to Kenneth, a MEAT KNIFE was used instead of a plastic cake knife. Thanks to The Norse Bar & Bistro’s kitchen!

My Birthday…

 

Aloha everyone…

This day has no big celebration for my day of birth but still I must thank all in My Facebook for the wishes! Thank You Very Much and I love you all!!!

Especially to my buddy Jayson Woo who hooked me up for a part time job at his club last night and a surprise birthday celebration at and after work. 

At work I celebrated my birthday with another colleague Agnes Ho with a cake prepared by Jayson. There are few coincidence though, we are both of the same Chinese family name “He” and we both are Aries! LOL…

Snapped few pictures… Sang the birthday song on stage and Jayson performed a magic trick!!! Such a nice guy…

 

Then we headed on to The Norse Bistro & Pub at BB Park. There was Mac Brandon waiting for our arrival with 2 bottles of Dewar's Whiskey specially for my birthday… I was quite drunk that night… Played some pools and made some bets too! Ha Ha Ha… Everyone had a real good time, thanks to Mac Brandon.

We even had our supper at Jalan Alor, the famous Beef Noodle stall, Jayson’s treat. Yummy…
